Ditch stood there, watching for the cougar to come back. After a few heartbeats, he turned to where he scented the doe "If you want to live, your going to want to get out into the water. Now." he bleated.

Ditch saw the agonizingly slow pace Sara was walking. He huffed in anger "Run now! You don't have time!" he could see the ferns moving where the cougar had left, it was coming back. He rushed over to the side of the water where it could attack him in the open.

Ditch looked back at the doe one last time, seeing she was safe, he got ready to fight. The cougar came out of the undergrowth, spitting furiously. He lowered his head and the cougar stopped right in front of him and jumped onto his back. Ditch reared and jumped, but the cougar remained on him. He dropped to the ground and rolled a bit before getting up in a heartbeat. The cougar had fallen off, but quickly rose to it's paws. It charged at his sides and he turned to meet it with his front hoof aimed at the cougar's head. The cougar tried to stop, but it was too late. It ran right into Ditch's leg, blood appearing where the hoof had met it's forehead. The cougar backed off, dazed. Ditch took the chance and charged it, his sharp antler points meeting it's soft body. The cougar fell dead and Ditch lay down, exhausted. Yet he had never been so thrilled and excited. He turned to see the doe.

Sara had silently started heading up the stream. The water helped her wallow since she walked with it, not against it. She walked thourgh the soft water hopeing to find a safe place to sleep.

Not seeing the doe, Ditch stood, his blood pounding through his wide ears. He followed the stream, and her scent. He saw her in front of him, he galloped up to the small doe. Standing a few fawn-lengths away from her, he called "Will you talk to me now?"

Ditch threw his head down in a long defeated sigh. He wouldn't stop following her though. He continued walking behind her. "My name is Ditch by the way." he called, not sure if she would reply.

Sara nodded walking on. Th water flow would become harsh at times. When it did she would walk at the edge. Soon the stream lowered to mid lower leg. Soon she had to pass under a road. There were two tunnels. She walked into the right one confidenly. Thourgh the dark tunnel she looked back to see if he was stil following her thourgh the long tunnel. She was only half way thourgh. There was alot more tunnel to go thourgh.

Ditch continued the doe through the tunnel. It reminded him of a night walking through the forest. He decided to entice her to talk "Where are we going?"

Sara simply contined walking when out of the tunnel she walked over a few rocks than kept going for a fer fawn-leangths. She reached a spot were the clear dirty water turned black, and deep. That spot was 6 feet deep. Sara backed a little than jumped high, and clear of it. Than continued walking thourgh the the forest stream.

Ditch saw her leap, it was a large leap, but he could leap better. Not trying to make himself look weak, or full of himself, he leaped just under what distance she could. He followed her, silence finding them.

Sara listened to the chrip of the birds, and the splashing of the stream after awhile of walking. Thunder sounded up ahead. She started up the side of of a hill his tunnel to small to go thourgh. few large yellow shineyeatures cam thourgh with bg black paws. When gone she confidntily walked across. Down the side of a hill. There was a bit of open land. She walked on than acrosses a wooden thing than forced onto the water. She walked on. There was some tough torny undergrowth on her path. The created a tunnel. It was just big enough for her to crawl thourgh. She would put her front hoofs forward than her pull her back forewad. This tunnel contined for a long time. She was sure the male wouldn't be able to follow. His antlers would be to tall, and wide. She had to lay her ears down for them not to be ripped into shreads. He was also taller. The tunnel barely held her, and this was the only way to her home.
